how important is dirty rushing?

by: Unsure

Everyone that has said that I should rush has told me to just be myself and find a house that likes me as much as I like them but how important is knowing actives before hand through parties and just socializing before formal rush?

Knowing actives can be helpful, but the important connections are ones you already have (i.e., older girls from cheer, dance, church, camp, NCL, etc who you've known for years), not fleeting ones from dirty rush events. Hopefully you've already kept in touch with any actives you do know!

My summer advice is to be really "on" at Fish Camp as many counselors are sorority women and a lot of rush crushes come out of Fish Camp.

Don't stress- lots of girls, even in top houses, started rush week with little to no "connections" and ended up with bids.

It's very dangerous. No one girl or group of girls can promise you anything and just because they spend time with you or chat with you via social media, texts, whatever without any promises, you will "think they want YOU". When in reality... they could be stringing you along hoping the other members of their chapter will want you. And then we'll the others don't care a bit.

Most of the time dirty rushing leads to broken hearted PNM who gets dropped.

It's called dirty because most PNMs get the dirt (dropped)

If you're going to rush you should take a shower first. Don't rush dirty

Lots of houses do this to keep their retention rates up during rush. The more girls that want to come back because they think they are "wanted", the more girls they have to cut, therefore making that house more "desirable."
