Very badly. There are lots of girls in engineering and business honors at sororities at A&M who can maintain 3.2+ GPAs. Plus, you're also a freshman, so you probably haven't even taken a lot of classes in your "hard major" and your GPA is only going to fall even more. I would advise you to not even try rushing, as you'll be majorly disappointed.

I rushed as a sophomore with a 2.6 and am very happy where I ended up. Every house is different and rates girls with different criteria. Rush and find your home!

I really don't know which sorority this person joined, but for MANY of the houses, anything less than a 3.0 will be extremely unlikely to get an invite past day 1. Many sororities have nationally mandated GPA cutoffs which are higher than 2.8. You can reasonably expect only 1 or 2 invites back to the second day, if I'm to be brutally honest here. You have less than a B average as a Freshman. Many sororities here won't take that risk.

You're going through rush with a GPA that is below the all-womens and all-sorority average so expect big cuts unless:

1. You have a ton of very close active friends who will pull for you inside the house

2. You have major legacy status

3. You have an amazing resume from freshman year and are really involved on campus. If all you did is study and you are below a 3.0, your grades are going to take a pretty big hit when you add sorority membership to the mix.

4. You're drop dead gorgeous.
