does being a legacy hurt or help?
by: Newbie for 2016I will be entering LSU in the Fall as a new Freshman and I am so excited! I definitely plan on going through Recruitment. I am a double legacy (mother and grandmother - both at LSU) . My sister is in a different sorority at a different school, but LSU has this one. Do you think that the other sororities will just automatically cut me based on the fact that I am a legacy for 2 different sororities? I really hope the other groups are receptive to me,. I love being a legacy but want to be my own person too.

It could hurt at houses that you aren't a legacy at because those houses will probably assume that you will want to be in whatever sorority that you are a legacy of. I know "higher ranked" sororities get really competitive with it, but for the most part, you should be fine. However, if you do not want to join the sorority that you are a legacy of, I would be sure to let the houses that you do like know that!

Hurt how? At the house where you are a legacy or the houses where you aren't?
