Can someone explain the old south event where everyone dresses up in those big dresses? Like what is that and who gets to participate in it??

I attend another southern school with ka and my dad was one but was lookin through posts and saw this.
Old South is KA's annual (and national, although they have to change the name now) formal and it typically lasts a week. Part of the week is Plantation Ball where everyone dresses in old
south attire. You have to be invited by a KA as his date to attend. Usually followed by a dinner and dancing at a venue. Throughout the week there are multiple parties with different themes/dress codes. Hope that helps!
