sorority comments

i saw this on KDs page and liked it.
"Why do girls find it so entertaining to spread lies about people they don't know? I have never met a KD that wasn't a genuinely friendly girl. I've never met ANY sorority girl that wasn't wonderful and that's the truth. I find that anyone I actually take the time to get to know is a new friend of mine. Girls are so similar, we all go through the same stuff. I promise u will feel a weight off ur own heavy heart if u dont gossip. When u focus on the bad in others u also see it in urself. Why imprison urself in that negativity? There is no best sorority. We have ten incredible and unique sisterhoods on our campus. No outsider can judge and tell u that ur not good enough. How do they know? I know it's sappy but I wish everyone who reads this and has had their feelings hurt by this vile website peace, confidence and the ability to be content with their own selves so they can appreciate all of the good in those around us"

Whoever keeps saying there is no top 5 is completely delusional. There most certainly is a top 5. It doesn't mean that should give members who belong to the houses in the top 5 a reason to bash the other houses though. You can sit here all you want and try and convince yourself and everyone else there isn't a top 5 but it makes absolutely no sense to say this. That's the reality of life. There are always going to be people who are above you and people who are below you and the same applies for this. But as previously said, just because a group is considered to be in the top 5 does not entitle them to bash the groups who are below them.

Gosh, I'm confused I thought it said in our constitution "all men are created equal". Let me reiterate, just because certain sororities are more desired by SOME girls does not make them better. Those sororities are looking for a certain type of girl, and cut all the rest. Again, that doesn't make them better. You are not only delusional but you apparently come from an atmosphere of entitlement and classism.

I MIGHT agree there was a top five it there was a reasonable way to determine that. Like for instance dollars raised for charity, number of volunteer hour, GPA, etc. The current criteria is a crock though. It's PURELY subjective and therefore open to debate. That being the case, it's a bad idea to perpetuate this notion that there is a "top five" because it's based on reputation alone.

i'd say a lot of top 5 is based on tradition, so if you don't value tradition, then you probably don't see or care of a top 5. beyond that, the top 5 are houses with strong histories, strong reputations, as well as strong reputations of the girls that make up the houses. they are generally the homecoming queens, and debutantes of the area. well-liked and well-known. good grades, wealthy, good personalities and good looks. involved in many extracurriculars. it's also a lot of in state

To be honest, no, that's not what I value. I'm more about what you do than who you are. Traditions aren't always a good thing, they can hold you back sometimes too. In my opinion the criteria you name is very superficial That's just my opinion though, see I think it's possible for different people to have a different "top five".

I know not all the girls in the "top five" grew up in an insulated society where they were raised to believe that they could only be members of certain sororities. For the ones who were raised that way, I truely hope they can manage to spend the rest of their lives in Louisiana so they don't have to one day face the harsh reality that those perks stop at the border. Actually I'm surprised that those girls even go to a public university, you'd think they'd be going to private schools.

Just because you're in one of the "top 5" doesn't mean you're dull and obsessed with money and can't face the "real world". You girls are PATHETIC and are just as ignorant and biitchy to be saying that about groups of almost 400 girls that you don't even know. Grow up HYPOCRITES
