sorority comments

There are no real "tiers" just a fantasy made up by some of the sororities so they can say they're better than everyone else. Repeating it won't make it so. Everyone looks for something different in a sorority, it all just depends where you feel most comfortable and where you fit in. This stupid list that keeps popping up only causes us all to fight among ourselves, just cut it out please.

ever heard of quality and not quantity? i don't know about you, but i much rather be apart of a sorority who isn't as big number wise, but still has a big name and alot of quality girls as members. at the end of the day, why does it really matter who has the biggest sorority if they put numbers before everything else? i think belonging to a top house that is a little bit smaller than the rest speaks for itself because it's obvious they are very selective and only pick the best of the best.

i agreed 100%. i know people are going to be like "if you belong to a smaller house then that means girls drop" but that is definitely not true. i know for a fact my sorority is considered smaller because we don't care about numbers and don't give out bids just to say we have the biggest pledge class. we are extremely selective and only give bids to girls who deserve to be there. we only care about getting great girls. and with great girls comes great sisterhood. and the rest just falls into place.

I totally agree. I don't think numbers have anything to do with sisterhood and I think there are a lot of advantages to having a smaller group! But please don't discredit the amount of sisterhood a larger group can have. I'm in one of the top three largest groups and I couldn't be happier with my sisterhood (not trying to say it's better than yours or anyone elses) but I love my sisters and wouldn't trade my choice for the world

Not saying that a smaller chapter can't have a good sisterhood, but why try to discredit some of the big chapters? Obviously if you're like kd, ddd, phi mu, and chi o and are able to be very selective during rush and are still able to hold onto those girls after rush, you must be doing something right.

whoever the psychopath is commenting on everyone's page accusing kappa of giving everyone bad ranks clearly isn't doing their homework. Kappa gets terrible ranks on here, just like all of the other top houses. Quit obsessing and get a life. Thanks.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You should have to register to comment on these pages. If registration was a requirement you would KNOW who is doing what to whom. Some of the mean nasty rumors wouldn't get repeated so much if you had to be accountable for what you say. Last week Pi Phi was being accused of the nasty rankings, now it's Kappa. And by the way, as far as the big and large argument goes . . . In my opinion just cause you make a lot of cuts doesn't mean you're making the RIGHT cuts. Some sororities only look for money and connections. That means you're missing out on a lot of great girls who may have other qualities that I would consider more desireable. So if your only criteria for being "top" is how selective you are, you could be missing the mark because whose to say you're making the RIGHT selections?

Sorry to break it to you, but quality over quantity does not apply here. Your quantity is less because the quality of your sisterhood has made girls drop. We all have the same quota to meet each fall. However, we do not all retain our members afterwards and THAT IS A REFLECTION of the sorority and how happy the sisters are in it. You really cannot argue that unless you are as dumb as wood. Which would mean you're a GDI and your opinion is invalid because if you're in a sorority, you had to have a minimum gpa requirement to even rush

Well, there could be MANY reasons for girls dropping also. For the sororities that take more out of state girls, perhaps they decide they would rather go back home in later years. Perhaps some girls are early graduates and therefore drop in the middle of a year. Some girls might find that the requirements of soroity life is interfering with their GPA's. We can't ASSUME that they drop because they don't like their sorority. We don't KNOW that. Yes, I understand that you all have the same quota. I'm just saying that just because you have more members doesn't make them BETTER members.

You REALLY need to learn how to talk to people. Just because you can't see another side to an argument doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The way you talked to that poster is an example of why sorority girls have a bad name. If you can't see that you're as dumb as wood.
