everyone obviously has their own opinion on who they see as the top tier and we all just need to accept that!

for example: many people view pi phi as a good sorority but won't include it in the top tier. but on pref night many girls in pi phi went to parties that included tri delt and kappa, two other of the "top tier" houses. yet they still chose the sorority they are in. so if the girls had a choice, how can you say that it's not just as good? they are fighting over the same girls.

this happens to all of the houses and not just pi phi. that's just an example. what you perceive as the best depends on what traits you are looking for in a sorority. they're all good!!

There is no top 3 or 4. There is a top tier that includes kd, chi o, phi mu, ddd and kappa. And yes, pi phi is a very good sorority too.

agreed. the big 5 are all equally strong, respected, and popular. It just honestly depends on your personality as an individual.

Here are some of the general characteristics of the top tier sororities. Not all of these are exactly my opinion, they're just the general reputation

kd- some what "girly", refined, typical southern sorority, pretty girls, lots of legacies

ddd- lots of fun, really cute girls, kind of exclusive, like to party, somewhat difficult to get a bid, very involved

kkg- extremely fun, love to party, laid back, beautiful girls, very selective, kind of difficult to get a bid, very friendly

chio- very wealthy, very cute girls, very straight laced, very concerned with grades, not as selective as other houses, been described as "uppity"

phi mu- very girly but very sporty at the same time (hard to explain), beautiful girls, involved, don't party as much as the other 4

i agree these are all the general stereotypes and pretty accurate although theres always exceptions. all of the top 5 are very selective though, thats the point. they just may be selective in different ways and for different qualities. chi o and kappa dont usually go for the same girl but getting a bid is just as difficult

I would agree with most the stereotypes, except you said Chi O isn't as selective as the other 4. I would honestly say Chi O is still pretty selective. I mean, they're the top 5. They're all selective. And as far as Phi Mu not partying as much as the other 4...Tri delt and Kappa party the most, followed by Phi Mu and KD, and Chi O probably parties the least.

Ddd kd and chi o can cut the most girls first round because they have the biggest return rate. It's a rush fact. Chi o is still probably number 1 or 2

I don't think Chi o's return rates have been as strong as the past, from what I've heard. I do know that ddd, kd, kappa, and phi mu have had the strongest return rates during rush. Around 99 or 100% after round 1. And I know for a fact that kd, kappa, and phi mu had to make the biggest cuts this past rush.
