sorority comments

It really is so sad that our society has become so mean and hateful. Once people realized they could hide behind a nickname, they also decided that it was okay to say horrible and untrue things about other people behind their backs (didn?t that use to be called slander?). The internet and websites like this are going to be the downfall of decent society and the Greek system. If the Panhellenic groups don't start working together instead of trying to "out rank one another" they are going to find the future very bleak. Everyone needs to re-read their sorority?s constitution and mission statement and start living by the ideals set forth by their founders. The women who pioneered the Greek movement would be appalled at the actions and statements made by members of their organizations. Everyone needs to work together so the LSU Greek System can continue to exist.

So, just wondering. I'm considering rushing next fall. I'll be a sophomore. My parents wanted me to adjust to college before I joined a sorority. What are my chances like for rushing as a sophomore?

you can rush as a sophomore and be fine! just make sure you know a lot of the girls in the houses that you're interested in. it helps a lot!

These rankings are never going to be right. But here's the truth:

Since there seems to be so much disagreement over who is top, I'll break it down by area.

NEW ORLEANS- depends on school, but the top girls almost always go kkg, phi mu, pi phi. then tri delt. But NO is big enough that almost every sorority can get a few good girls.
BATON ROUGE- Tri delt has the most pull. Followed by kd. Then phi mu. Then chi o or pi phi.
MANDEVILLE/COV- Tri delt, kappa, and phi mu are always frontrunners for these top girls, but kd is gaining alot of ground.
LAKE CHARLES- chi o and kd
LAFAYETTE- The top girls from lafayette area always pref tri delt, phi mu, and kd. More go tri delt, but phi mu and kd get a lot of good girls from this area.
SHREVEPORT- usually chi o, kappa, and tri delt are big for these girls. Then kd, phi mu, and pi phi follow.

And that's a breakdown of the big areas. You can see that the good girls split all over the place, so no one sorority is "the best"

i'm sorry, i wanted to trust your rankings, simply because i do think there is a lot of biased based on which town you're from. but this is completely inaccurate. you listed tri delt in all of them. shreveport, man/cov, and Lake charles, were pretty accurate but the others were way off. Tri delt is a great sorority, but to call it the baton rouge sorority is an image of the past. how many total girls from baton rouge did they get this year?...4? how many did the other houses get?......and nola girls split up everywhere. theres a ton in dz as well!

Must be a chi o to give those rankings because nobody in their right mind with rank chi o 2nd at LSU. There is absolutely no way chi o is ranked above kd phi mu and kkg. Maybe 4 or 5 years ago, yes but definitely not now. Chi o is 7th house on the row and you're lucky to have that after the slipping pledge classes you've gotten in the past years.

if you're going to say SUCH rude things about the TOP sororities, WTF do you think about the ones that didn't make your cut?! WOW. grow up and get off this site. EVERY SORORITY AT LSU IS GREAT. one day you'll learn this isn't making you a better person inside.
