That's why Zeta here is improving a little bit more and faster than Theta is. Some PNMs coming from areas where Zeta is popular (like Georgia... ever notice how many Georgia girls are in Zeta?) don't mind going Zeta at LSU because that's what they know and what is popular back home. It's kind of like how there's so many Lafayette/New Iberia girls in Phi Mu; that's what is popular in that area. That's why Zeta has a bajillion out of staters in their chapter compared to the other sororities at LSU. Theta doesn't have that as much because they're only big in Texas as far as the south goes, and the "good" Texas girls would rather go Kappa, Tri Delt, Chi O or Pi Phi over Theta here at LSU.

but all this talk about what a good sorority nationally is...means nothing. im glad zeta is good SOMEWHERE but that is IRRELEVANT. if you want to have a great time at LSU, then you are going to want to go somewhere that is thriving at LSU. right? in that case, the sought after houses are Phi Mu, Kappa, KD, Tri Delt, and Chi O. Pi Phi is good too. It depends on your personality, what sways you from any of those. this whole argument gets so old..when everyone really knows this is how it is...

What in the world are you talking about? Every sorority at LSU but Theta is thriving, and even girls in that sorry chapter are managing to have a good time there.

Delta Gamma doesn't have a strong southern presence? It was founded in Oxford!!

Being founded in the south doesn't make you strong in the south. How many SEC schools is DG a top sorority? Ole Miss. Florida. 2 schools does not give you a "strong southern presence".

I totally agree with "to ummmm". EXCEPT most of my family is from Texas and there are four Phi Mu chapters there. At each of those schools Phi Mu is at least top tier if not number 1. Soooo they don't have a whole lot of chapters there but the ones they do have are awesome.

The Phi Mu chapters in Texas are at small Texas schools with a crappy Greek life that is nowhere near comparable to the Greek life at UT-Austin, A&M and SMU or SEC schools. University of Houston? UT-San Antonio? Houston Baptist? Tarleton State? Yeah, I rest my case. Phi Mu in Texas is pretty much insignificant.

Actually if you knew anything sbout Texas, then youd know that Greek life at some of those "big schools" isnt even that important, like Texas A&M. LSU only has 10 NPC chapters, nothing like Bama or UGA. We're puny compared to others so don't even try to downplay other Greek communities on comparable levels. LSU is more on the same level as UTSA and UH which have almost the same number as us. Also, Houston Phi Mu Alumnae chapter is one of the biggest and most significant in the country. So Phi Mu insignificant in Texas? I think not. At least they aren't DG who have plenty of chapters in Texas and the rest of the south but are tops essentially nowhere.
