sorority comments

Maybe you should second guess your decision. I am a Christian member of a top tier sorority and there are many days I regret my decision. Between the drinking, lack of real service projects, the lack of total sisterhood, the use of girls who constantly borrow my stuff, never to return those dresses or Ray-bans. Man Why Did I ever Do this? I am thinking after three years its time to get out. My house's bible study has dwindled to a 1/3 of what it was my freshmen year and most of the time its about food and gossip. I am finding what they said was not true and the truth about sororities are TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS.

It sounds like YOU, specifically, made the wrong choice. Everyone else loves it. Don't dissuade others. No one is making you blackout, or even drink at all. If you want more service, bring it to your house. I know girls in mine that do that, even as only freshmen. It sounds like you chose a house with more party morals but that's your fault don't say its always the case. Each house is different and I guarantee there are strong sisterhoods. Sorry you didn't find one.

Get real not everyone loves it. The girl never said she blacks out. And yes there are some houses with service, but remember KKG got in trouble on BID DAY!!!! Oh and don't think most all of the houses are filled with perfectly happy girls either. If you are going to comment stick to the issues in the post do not make up things. Are you someone who has drinking issues and blackouts, sounds like you might. How sad it is to have a college woman who can not read a post and not add false statements. And before you spew off on these strong sisterhoods, look at the fact it sounds good at rush but why are so many sororities instructed at rush workshop to avoid looking clique at rush. I know this is true my friends along the row have shared this with me. I also know the older longer we stay in sororities the amount of pledge sister declines all along the row.
#1234by: Agreed with ok
Some people on here are absolutely delusional. If you don't like it then DROP! this is probably why pi phi drops. And I'm not adding on things, the girl did post about those complaints. Wow you're so socially awkward no wonder you can't make friends. I wouldn't be your friend that's for sure. I have a great sisterhood that I'm proud of an it's BS to hear other girls say just cause her experience sucked, that it's that way for all 10 sororities. This is not true. And I don't know what you mean, I've never been instructed to act less cliquey at rush. You are speaking of your knowledge on your particular sorority. SO STOP CLAIMING YOU KNOW THE OTHERS. because I am 100% sure you do NOT.
#1235by: Hey agreed with ok
I have heard the clique's are addressed in more than one group. Some of us do have friends outside of our own houses. Also why don't you address the retention rate at all the houses including your own!!!!!!They SUCK!!! If you don't believe me ask any new alum. The FACTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. ALL sororities have a hard time holding on to the pledge classes even the top tier. You may not know this since you probably pledged this year. And as far as sisterhood, I know how uncivil most of you are to people in different houses. The greek bus is one of the most unfriendly places on campus. The idea we have top/bottom tier sororities just reinforces the animosity that exist among the system. How pathetic is it we can not have a civil exchange about this. Have you ever attended a Habitant for Humanity greek build? I have and aside from the paided habitant staff, the family and ramdon frat guys, most of the sorry sorority girls spend more time posing for pics and eating pizza. ALL TRUE
#1236by: um yeah
only a few sororities struggle with retention rates. i do know what i'm talking about, this is my 4th year. when i said sisterhood is great, i meant the SISTERHOOD of the houses. im not meaning sisterhood amongst all greek houses. and the top and bottom tiers will always exist, just like they do at every school because there is always a top and a bottom in society. there is always competition. there are always people better than you, prettier, smarter, wealthier, etc. its a fact of life. stop crying to yourself about it. i have my facts straight, thank you. sorry im not sorry.
#1237by: @um yeah
it's hard for me to believe that this is your 4th year. You sound like your still in junior high, actually. Unfortunately for you, the four years of "sisterhood" you have experienced hasn't done a whole lot for your maturity level. If you're an example of "better", than I thank God I'm at the bottom. No crying here, thank you very much.
#1238by: @@um yeah
Just because you do not agree with someone you do not have to be rude. Calling someone junior high is just stupid, and it makes all sorority girls seem ignorant. And as far as the comment about the greek unity, we should all support the system. Of course this also reflects how ignorant you sound. I used to be proud to be greek and we should be able to discuss things like retention rates, and unity. After all the greek system is only as strong as its weakest member.
