Just went through recruitment, thoughts about it

I went into rush thinking I wanted certain houses (I know not to name any on here but they are houses that many think are “top”!) but I was supremely let down once I attended their parties. I then started ranking them last on my list but they kept coming back for me. Thankfully the houses I fell in love with also wanted me so I ultimately got my first choice (the house I ranked #1 after 3rd round, I had max invites to each round so I had to cut from 6 to 2 going into preference - the house Inpit as #1 is the one I got a bid from). That’s when I was finally able to shake those “top” houses loose. My roommate and several of our friends did the same. Some people thought we were crazy for not wanting the “top” houses but honestly, the in person experiences during those parties were ewwww. Happy to be in a house that I LOVE. So the lesson is, don’t be a sheep and blindly follow the crowd, go where your heart leads you for the best fit.
