SigEp effectively uses year-round recruitment strategies to recruit the most talented, values-aligned students to our chapter. Every SigEp member understands and is so excited by the life-changing opportunities afforded through the pledge-free, substance-free, app-based Balanced Man Program that they remain in our chapter through graduation and give back as a Balanced Man volunteer and alumni. SigEp is made successful by a diverse group of volunteers, empowered to support our healthy, alcohol-free chapter experience and mentor undergraduates. Our SigEp Learning Community is unquestionably not just the best fraternity but the best student organization at LSU.

University administrators and many of our peer fraternities are looking for SigEp to lead our campus to a “new normal” and fully separate ourselves from the drinking club brand associated with all fraternities. SigEp’s substance free policy is a strong start. I understand that this will be hard. It will be hard when other fraternities are still hosting parties in their houses. It will be hard on game days when the entire campus is tailgating. And it will be harder still when friends and dates ask why they can’t come pregame at our house before an event. But it is still the right thing to do and it can work.

No one actually likes sigma chi tho. We all just fake liked them for derby days. Their parties aren’t fun and the guys are funny looking
