Not Making Friends in my Sorority

by:

I rushed in fall and am PC 21 and just really don’t have any friends in my actual sorority. All my friends are outside of my sorority and it sucks cause when I go to events I just feel like an outsider in a place where I’m supposed to feel like sisters with them. Im not sure what to do because all my friends are in greek life just in other sororities and I don’t want to drop.

Sorry you are feeling like this. Truth probably is that a lot of PC21 members may feel like you do in-part because of the size of all the houses at LSU. It took a while for me too when I pledged in ‘18 but by the end of my first year I was much happier. Couple of suggestions: talk to your Big about how you feel, talk to the person that was in charge of the PC21 NM class, volunteer for a committee(s), participate in all events - not just social, and see if you can move into the house? In the meantime eat meals at your house? Good luck - I hope you stick it out because it will get better!

hey girlie so sorry you're going through this! Talk to your big and ask if you can hang out more. She's your big for a reason- she'll take you under her wing.

I'm also a member of PC'21 and I felt this way until recently. What helped me to feel more at home was getting as involved as possible. I signed up for lots of committees, went to events, and try to eat at the house as much as possible. I still have moments where I feel like an outsider, but getting involved is a great way to make friends!
