How does the Algorithm work

by: Help

Can someone please explain the recruitment algorithm?? Is it like the wand chooses the wizard or do the pnms have more control?

You have like no control of what houses you get back. You have some if you end up making it all the way to preference or if you get two houses back for preference and go to chose 1 and 2 for bid day.

It depends. If a PNM has a full card after each round, then she will release the chapters she ranked lower after each round. But if not, she will continue to be invited back to those houses in order to maximize her invites for each round (assuming they invite her back as well). Then for Pref, if a PNM goes to 2 parties, she can rank those 2 houses. She is guaranteed a bid to one of them as long as she lists both on her card in order after Pref. If she had 2 invites and only lists one - and that chapter reaches quota before matching with her, then no bid.

This is very unrealistic and you know that. The majority of girls don’t get full cards back every round. And even so, if you are high up on one chapters list and you rank them last, and low on another chapters list and rank them first, chances are you’re getting the one you ranked last because you were higher on their list. She asked if the pnms have more control and they don’t. At the end of the day, it’s up to the chapter who they keep and let go.

I don’t think @well was trying to say what is “realistic” or what happens for most PNMs, but how the system actually works. That PNMS don’t actually release chapters during the week - unless they have a full card. So rarely I agree. And as far as Pref ranking, the system tries to match the PNM with their first choice. But that all depends on where the PNM is on their list.
