Options during rush
by: .I have a 3.9 gpa. Lots of extracurriculars and a transfer but not a legacy. Also a clean social media. Will I have a good chance of maximizing my options on chapters who care about academic excellence.

At the end of the day, they want girls who are a good fit for the chapter. You could be flawless on paper and online, and if they don’t see you as a fit you aren’t getting in. That’s the harsh reality. All that stuff doesn’t guarantee you the top of anyone’s list. Just let the process work and don’t get ahead of yourself. You’ll end up disappointed

great girls with the perfect resume can fall through the cracks during recruitment, it happens every year. when I rushed, I had a 4.0 gpa, was captain of two different sports my senior year of hs, did other extracurriculars besides sports, etc. and by sisterhood I only had one sorority left on my list that I ended up preffing with and joining

Just because you have ”connections” doesn’t mean they’re going to get you in. Maybe if your connections are sitting on the exec board or in another position within the house. The chapter isn’t looking to take in friends of friends. You also don’t know how your “connections” are looked at in the house. They could be deemed a risk and then hurt your chances for being associated with them.

I went to a high school where 90% of the girls end up greek in college, I knew girls I had went to HS with in multiple chapters and was still cut by them
