what is the point of ranking tho

Ok so hear me out. All of GR theres so many arguments as to whos the hottest, who has the best PC, ect ect. So many different people like so many different sororities, and so many other hate other ones. But it’s like..why tho? I feel like the only way you can really determine if you “don’t like a sorority” is if you had a bad experience with a girl from there, but that’s also not the whole sorority? I’m actually from a different school but wanted to see LSU’s perspective on this. Is it the same here where a “top sorority” like KD is only top because of the legacy behind it? And money? I just actually want to know anyone’s logic behind it. Not that there’s anything wrong!! Just curious to see people’s perspectives
