Personally, I admire what these guys are trying to do, since every fraternity at LSU at one point had to go through the same process, but in my own opinion, I think there are way too many fraternities already. This past year, when FIJI came back, that made 19 IFC fraternities, well 20 if you count Phiota, the Latino fraternity.
I realize that this group has their own ambitions and is not trying to take away from what the rest of the IFC organizations have to offer, but in terms of fraternity/sorority ratio, we're already sitting at a 2/1. That puts each sorority in HIGH demand for exchanges and social functions in the first few weeks of school. Not only this, but it's also downsizing the number of guys each chapter takes collectively, subsequently leading to lesser social budgets, etc.
My point is, each and every fraternity at LSU has something different to offer. If you don't like what they're all about, then a fraternity at LSU just isn't for you.
