so next year when i go through rush this is pretty much the impression im getting from this site.
"Top" Tier fraternities in order: LXA, KA,Kappa Sig, EX, Sig Ep
"Middle" tier in order if I can't get a bid from above: Pi Kapp, SAE, Acacia, Theta Xi, DKE
Is that pretty much how me and buddies should look at the system?

i'm in a sorority at lsu and me and my pledge sisters love the top tier guys you mentioned, but you should add sae in there. they're fantastic. also, idk if you got the order right...

yes those are the five best: LXA, KA, KSig, SigEp, and Sigma Chi

The next down from them is SAE, DKE, and one or two others

The rest are terrible and there is no reason to join them

my brother is a fiji at ut and said they use to be good at lsu then got getted off for throwing a pledge in a fire, so i don't think im going to do fiji. however, i am graduating from Episcipal in Houston and coming to LSU in fall with 4 buddies and all are lookng to join the same fraternity. my brother is good friends with 1 ka, 1 sigma chi, and 3 pi kapps at lsu; which all 5 of the guys i have met are legit. i guessing the other fraternities just do not rush many tx guys, but iam curious how the rush process goes once we get there.

Your comments all sound pretty accurate to me. And I didn't know that's why Fiji got kicked off. Wow, that's awful :-/ I'm a girl and the Texas boys I know are in those three fraternities too
