do they hate out of state girls
by: girli️ read a lot about that sororities at LSU don't want out of state people, but what if they check off all the other boxes? especially as a transfer

To be completely honest with you, you can have a lot of the qualities top houses look for in girls and still not even be considered if you are out of state, especially if you are not from the South. I am not from the South and felt it was extremely difficult to have basically any say in houses I wanted during rush. However, please keep an open mind! Rushing is an awesome experience alone, and just going through that week is a very positive experience. Going in to rush I assumed I had to make a top house because I fit a lot of the qualifications and was devastated when I didn’t. A few months later though, I really grew into my sorority and couldn’t be happier about where I am now. Just because the ‘top houses’ (whatever that means/whatever this site wants to tell you it means) might not take you doesn’t mean you won’t find your place. Best of luck and I hope you have a wonderful rush girl!

Also forgot to add this- this does not in any way mean that top houses “hate” out of state girls. It’s important to keep in mind that rush is also very stressful for the houses rushing girls, and it can be difficult for them to take in girls that they don’t know anything about. In short, it’s nothing personal and these houses 100% do not hate you. Just be yourself and trust the process- you will find where you belong!
