Yes it is much much harder to rush as an out of state girl at LSU. Regardless of your stats most sororities choose in state girls because people know them

I’m gonna honest with you girl, it’s hard being out of state at LSU for rush. A lot of out of state girls in top sororities have family/in-house connections

To be completely honest with you, you can have a lot of the qualities top houses look for in girls and still not even be considered if you are out of state, especially if you are not from the South. I am not from the South and felt it was extremely difficult to have basically any say in houses I wanted during rush. However, please keep an open mind! Rushing is an awesome experience alone, and just going through that week is a very positive experience. Going in to rush I assumed I had to make a top house because I fit a lot of the qualifications and was devastated when I didn’t. A few months later though, I really grew into my sorority and couldn’t be happier about where I am now. Just because the ‘top houses’ (whatever that means/whatever this site wants to tell you it means) might not take you doesn’t mean you won’t find your place.
