changes without f. king alexander
by: IdkDo you guys think fraternity house parties will be more common this semester without F. King Alexander as president?

Go read lsu’s alcohol policy for on campus events (also applies to off campus), ps-78. The reason there are so few parties on campus is due to the cost. LSU requires third party vendors (who sell the alcohol), security (some of which have to be lsupd officers as required by the university), and fencing. There is also a capacity limit or “ratio” of 1:3, meaning for every member there can only be 3 non-members. Fraternities no longer want to risk having un-sanctioned parties and not follow these rules because the university will crack down and issue a harsh punishment if they are caught.

So to answer your question, it has nothing to do with f-king alexander. These policies have been in place for years (besides the ratio), but weren’t enforced as strictly / punishment wasn’t as severe prior to Fall 2017.
