alpha phi taking upperclassmen

by:

Heard a rumor that alpha phi will be taking upperclassmen to evenly fill their sorority. Any truth to this?

It is my understanding that a lot of colonizing sororities take sophmores, juniors, and even an occasional senior if she is exceptional in every way. Like a girl who just never rushed and realized she wanted a sorority experience and thought it was too late. My cousin was a member of the charter Alpha Phis at Alabama ( which are doing quite well) and she said they took an absolutely gorgeous and amazing senior who was quite a catch. So, my best guess would be yes.

when they came to visit i had the opportunity to speak with their volunteers. they will be taking girls of all classes- freshman, junior, whatever. however, they won't be choosing ANY girl to help fill their quota. they will still be going by what all of the other lsu sororities look for- good grades, involvement, classy, sweet, etc. they also do require that someone recommends you. it can be anyone from greek life i believe. so YES they will be taking upperclassmen!

As said already, colonizing chapters always take members from a variety of classes. Just don't make the mistake that some people do and assume it's easier to get into a colonizing chapter. Remember, they'll be new and working hard to establish themselves, so PNMs with leadership skills and a track record of involvement, knowing and understanding the LSU campus and culture...all pluses. Like "a phi" said, you'll need recs to them like you would any of the other NPC sororities. Good luck!
