new sorority

If Alpha Phi does well here, who would be the best sorority to come next?

Gamma Phi. They seem to be putting a lot of time, effort, and national muscle into growing their sorority.

AOPi. They are also growing a lot as a sorority. One of those would be my guess.

Good call. I am the one who suggested Gamma Phi, but ADPi is very popular in the south. AOPi is too, but not to that extent.

Im pretty sure ADPi was here back in the day and it'd be nice to see them come back. I know LSU has had a total of 21 sororities in its history and today there are only 11 with the addition of Alpha Phi (which, eh is not really a good sorority lol)

I think APhi is actually quite a good sorority here and nationally. One of the bigger sororities (number of chapters) and a very strong, motivated nationals.

they used to be here for the loooooongest time (2nd longest after KD i believe). I have no idea why they were kicked off campus but they would be great to have back. Them along with sigma kappa. They do well in the south and the greek adviser is a sig kap. I was kinda surprised they wouldn't have recolonized sooner with her in charge.

Most likely ADPI and the others that used to be on campus were not kicked off, but had to close because of low numbers. When that happens, it is a decision made by their headquarters, not by the university.

Sigma Kappa has been opening up new chapters each semester and clearly thrives in the big SEC schools. The should definitely consider re-opening the Zeta Omega chapter.

There was something called the "Alpha Syndrome". Negative gossip about the Alpha sororities not being any good and on the way out eventually effected the numbers at rush and caused chapters to fold. I can't say if AOP "were kicked off" campus. See, a negative spin right there from someone who doesn't know the LSU Greek history. Many of the chapters decided they could not overcome the waive of Alpha negatively and voluntarily left campus. There used to be Alpha Chi Omega, AOP, Alpha Phi, AEPhi, AZD, AGD and ADP. (sorry if I left anyone off)

really like to see ADPi and maybe AXO back--they are so popular in the south it seems strange that they're not here

Just came back to MS State and they're recolonizing at Ole Miss this fall. They should definitely give it a shot here -- the LSU chapter (Omega, 1914) was the second house on campus.

FYI AD Pi got 309 girls at ole miss on Sunday to start their colony they used to be there too but low numbers killed them - they are now at just about at all of the SEC schools
