how hard is it to get a bid to a good fraternity?

I’m from out of state and I was wondering how hard it would be to get a bid to the good frats like kappa sig sae and phi psi. I know a good amount of people who go to LSU from my school and they say it’s a bunch of southern guys and it’s hard to get a bid if your from the north is this true?
