rushing as a sophomore with a low gpa?

Coming out of high school I had a 3.4 GPA and a 29 on the ACT. After my first semester, I got a 2.7. I don't know what it's going to be after this semester, possible a little bit higher (a 2.9 at the highest). and I'm worried about how this will affect me rushing. Is it even worth it? I've been told that I'll be cut from several houses simply for being a sophomore, so with factoring in my bad grades I don't even know if it's possible to get a bid
