description of fraternities
by: tigerboundHey y'all! I'm an incoming freshman and was curious about different fraternities. Not interested in the tiers just wondering what each fraternity is like and what kind of guy they appeal to. Geaux Tigers!

That list is pretty accurate. I would say joining almost every fraternity on campus you will have a good four years with the exception of the really bottom tier ones like ATO, Beta, Theta Chi or Sammy. I'm not personally in a "lower middle tier" fraternity (Delta Chi, Pike, Fiji) but I know several guys who are and some of them seem to have a better brotherhood and more fun than some of the top tier fraternities to be 100% honest. Some of the top tier and "upper middle tier" fraternities are highly overrated (I speak from personal experience). You also have to understand the party scene has been pretty awful this year thanks to our friends at phi delt. Nobody really knows how next fall will go with tailgating being gone from the parade grounds and all the stupid restrictions on tailgating. Good luck at rush going Greek is easily the best decision I've made at LSU.
