should i rush or not?

by:

I'm going to lsu next fall and can't decide on whether or not I want to rush. I really don't think sororities are for me and also I'm in a serious relationship with a guy I've been with for years but he's going to school back home (four hours away). I don't want to put a strain on our relationship or feel uncommitted to a sorority because I'll be driving back and forth a lot to see him. If I don't rush, how hard is it to make friends? Can I still have an overall okay experience? I realize I'm asking a bunch of Greeks but honest opinions please

Rush and then decide if you want to go through pledgeship

You should totally still rush. Its a great way to meet new people. A huge amount of people who live on campus end up going home every weekend. Its not a big deal at all. And so many girls in sororities have boyfriends. It never stops them from having fun with their sisters. I would 100% recommend it. And like said above, you can always feel it out before you pledge.

With all the restrictions now I’d save my money. Lots of girls are dropping

If you’re on the fence, do it. It’s easier to join as a freshman and drop if it’s really not for you then try to join in the spring (limited selection of houses) or as a sophomore
