suspension

by:

I am Greek and I am ok with it. It's about time someone deals with the underage drinking going on in sororities and fraternities.

Our Chapter advisers talk about it all the time yet we continue to ave problems. I do drink just don't need to get wasted as much as possible.

Go Chancellor King.

No I will not shut up. Sounds like you are either an alcoholic or a pledge. Grow up I hear most of Roswell Ga has contacted the university to support my position on the suspension.

Oh yea maybe you think it's ok for people to die but I do not. Max was a friend of mine. Pray for his family and the terrible loss they are suffering. Do not let his death go unnoticed. Change must happen.

Please Chancellor keep the Greek system on suspension as long as you can.

Show some compassion for Max's family. We can all survive the suspension.

So True. If The Greeks at Penn State survived their 2 month suspension, we here at LSU can do the same.

I hope the Greeks stay on suspension for 1 year. This is horrible. Read the article in the local paper and you will see how many times the university has had to suspend or remove a fraternity.

Maybe it's time to send these idiots packing.

If you think for a moment that Greeks are the only place you can drink underage, you're an idiot. As for hazing...have you seen what the first year athletes have to endure?! It's not isolated to the Greek community.

Make the suspension last at least a year.

While I understand the need for the temporary suspension, it's unfair to the Greek organizations that had nothing to do with Max's death. Sororities don't haze.

Sororities may not haze but many underage members drink. Just head to the parade ground on game day.

Many of them do drink, but so do many underage Ambassadors, Tiger band members, Golden Girls, Tiger Girls, ROTC, Student Government, Football, Basketball, Baseball (and every other sports team) AND GDIs!! Let's be real! Nobody realizes the thousands and thousands of dollars raised by sororities every year for their philanthropies. They, for some reason, only want to associate sororitys with drinking. That is so unfair. I agree with a suspension until the investigation is over, but not a year long suspension. These girls have done nothing wrong so they shouldn't be held responsible. What happened to Max was a horrible, senseless tragedy and I believe hazing should be banned from every organization on campus. Period. But everyone needs to stop blaming the whole Greek system for the actions of one frat. Please continue to pray for the Gruver family. Hope to see you all tonight.

I am greek and I will stop blaming when we grow up and accept responsibility for our actions. I am disgusted when I see girls on game days with their buttons/sticker proclaiming their part of what ever sorority, acting like a drunk fool on game day. Stop hiding behind all the " money Greeks raise". Much of the money is raised because they have to. I am hard pressed to see a totally wasted band person on the field in a questionable drunken stupid-or. There were be ramifications to their actions.

I am not against drinking but I am against nasty behavior hidden behind the typical sorority girl response. People in general no longer hold greeks in high esteem, most people see them as self centered drunken shanks .
