The alcohol policies are already very strict. Sorority houses aren't allowed to have a drop of alcohol in them, in fraternity houses members of age are allowed to keep alcohol in their bedrooms, at parties there has to be 3rd party vendors that only serve small portions of beer and wine and 3rd party security must be hired, etc. it depends on the person if they choose to break any of the rules.

Other groups/geeds at LSU drink just as much, if not more than Greeks. They have just as many cases of alcohol poisonings, but people don't pay attention because the only ones who have a magnifying glass on their actions are Greeks. Tragic events like this don't happen all the time here within the Greek community like people think, so there is no "getting them under control" like you think.

The fact that you're even bringing up these things shows just how insensitive you are over what happened. The entire Greek community is grieving over this loss and this is something we never want or expect to happen. Please show some respect and stop throwing accusations wildly over something you know nothing about.

Non Greeks jumping on here to attack us is absolutely lame and pathetic. Using a tragedy as an excuse to condemn Greeks is even worse. LSU's Greek system is just fine

Example I was driving to campus on Friday night and a young women was has fallen in the middle of the road on Burbank. I asked she and her friend if they wanted a ride and she told me to F... off!

I asked the friend where they were headed and she said back to the _______ house. Classy sorority chicks.

Keep the suspension of functions in place. Many of us won't mind.

I am Greek. Try to get over yourself.

You need a lesson in manners. I can tell your sorority never taught you to have a conversation.

I am a sorority women who volunteers in Our Lady of the Lake Hospital on a regular basis. I can name numerous times frat boys have been dropped of at the emergency room with alcohol issues. There have been many girls too.

The events of this week are truly tragic. We can grieve and have a discussion of a issue that has to be addressed. I do drink but not to get "wasted".

The fact that you argue so strongly suggest that maybe you personally have a problem with alcohol.

The Greek community not just fraternities has to address this. Please let us act like adults and have a discussion. Maybe you should come to the Lake Hospital E.R. on a Friday or Saturday and you can see the real story.

The system does not work when there is a death.

If someone is so drunk they are sitting in the middle of Burbank a busy road, take a ride or get out of the damn road. Her "friend" was trying to drag her out of the street.

Do you really want to condone this behavior? Do we need another death to show this was poor judgement?
