before you decide to drop...

A word of advice to new members:
One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of people are upset about where they ended up. I get it. Not many people get their first choice, and sometimes not being wanted by that sorority is all you can think about. Do not let that ruin your sorority experience. There is a reason you aren’t in your top choice, but the sorority you got a bid from is so excited to have you.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that people don’t feel like they “fit in” with the rest of the chapter that gave them a bid. Keep in mind that you have only been in this chapter for two days. Bid day is a lot to take in, and maybe the girl you were paired with isn’t good match for you. That doesn’t mean the other 200+ girls will be like that.
Just give it a few weeks. Go to an exchange, some sisterhood events, and chapter. Hang out at the house. Sit with your sisters in classes. I promise you, no one will turn you down. If you still feel the need to drop, do it before initiation. Just give your chapter a solid shot. If I had dropped my chapter because of some girls I never clicked with, I would have missed out on meeting my best friends.
