fraternity informal recruitment.
by: PNMHey, so I was going through formal fraternity recruitment and got a call during the 3rd round saying my close friend had died. I took/ still am taking the news pretty hard so I dropped out of formal recruitment. That being said I'm signing up for informal recruitment because I still want to be part of greek life. I was wondering how much of a chance do I have going through informal of getting a bid, and will the fact that I started doing formal recruitment and dropped affect my chances with each house? Thanks

you absolutely have a chance with the fraternities, if you explain that you had an unexpected emergency that led to you dropping from formal recruitment they will understand, if they don’t then that’s not the fraternity for you. and there’s the fact that fraternities also do continuous open bidding so even though you dropped from formal recruitment if you contact the fraternities you’re interested in about receiving a bid you can that way
