fraternity informal recruitment.

Hey, so I was going through formal fraternity recruitment and got a call during the 3rd round saying my close friend had died. I took/ still am taking the news pretty hard so I dropped out of formal recruitment. That being said I'm signing up for informal recruitment because I still want to be part of greek life. I was wondering how much of a chance do I have going through informal of getting a bid, and will the fact that I started doing formal recruitment and dropped affect my chances with each house? Thanks
