Violations

August 2014: Members pooled money to buy alcohol for an off-campus event. After attending the event, a pledge was found unresponsive in his dorm and transported to the a hospital.

November 2014: Actives required some pledges to drink alcohol, set up tailgates and demeaned them.

Sanction:
SigEp National Board suspended the chapter's charter until they reviewed the issues. During the investigation, 29 members were expelled from the fraternity and 4 were suspended.

Fraternity had to institute several alcohol-related policies, including a "no shot policy," replacing social events with non-alcoholic events.
