by: :)If I were to rush in the fall as a sophomore and I really wanted one house in particular and had a few friends in that house that said they would do everything they can to help me out, will that help my chances at all? Do most people get their first choice?

No one can promise anyone a bid. You will be going through recruitment with around 1000 other girls and now you are an upperclassmen. All houses have upperclassmen quotas and yes, knowing people can be helpful, but is not a gaurentee. Be opened minded because you might come out suprised with where you fit best. If in your mind you will only accept one house you have a high likelihood of being disappointed. Maybe you need to see if your friends can help you get a bid during the upcoming spring break.
