i love greek life....

But honestly I don't understand how something that was meant to unite people and is centered around making connections while having fun in college has turned into a giant popularity contest. It disgusts me that fraternities blatantly deny socials with certain sororities because they are "too good for them" or "the girls aren't pretty enough". On top of that the girls and guys within these organizations continuously bash each other in order to "raise they're spot in the rankings", it's not only disappointing but it's downright disgusting. At a time when Greek life is looked upon in the most negative light it is important to put up a united front, but with sites such as Greek Rank and with just the nasty attitude of some Greek members I don't believe that change is on the horizon. So honestly think of this post when you bash another Greek organization, or deny relations with another sorority or fraternity for something as trivial as ranking.

If Greek life isn't a competition, how do you explain that there is some sort of competition and award system every single weekend. From phials, to grades to Panhell/IFC awards, this is one big competition. Doesn't really lead to a strong "community."

well it isn't wrong to want to socialize with people who are like you. don't blame the upper tier fraternities because plenty of sororities in almost every tier refuse to socialize with fraternities they think are below them

This is a tremendous post but if the people had this supportive atmosphere there would be no Greek Rank. They florish because of negative, anonymous posts!
