TCU isn't that kind of a school. You might be more comfortable at a state school.

other girls have been successful in going through recruitment and juniors. Do not let one stranger keep you from your goal. Give it a try!

It will be tough but I wouldn't say no group will want you. Just be prepared to maybe not get an invite back to the top chapters.

I cannot state that no 21 year olds have ever went through recruitment but since that is the age of many graduates, ask yourself if you would want to be put in a group of 18 year olds that are just out of high school. It is something that each individual would have to decide for themselves but you should consider it.

Yes there are junior transfers that go through recruitment successfully but this person does pose a goid thing to think about.

You can do this but you spend a lot of time with your pledge class and you may feel kind of awkward with a bunch of girls right out of high school when you are 21. There are a lot of other none Greek groups you can get involved with that you may feel more comfortable with.

there's no harm in trying and seeing what you get! you'd just really have to keep an open mind and not have any expectations

I like this person's attitude. Do give things a try instead of always wondering what could have been.

Give it a try instead of letting this site keep you from pursuing your dreams.

Be realistic. This isn't a state school. This is a classy school and we generally want 18 y.o. freshman as our pledges. This is a higher caliber place that way.

You are ridiculous, but sadly you are indicative of a lot of idiots here. This is why I want to transfer.

All houses do have upperclassman quotas they are required to fill during each recruitment. It will but competitive because there are not as many upperclassman spots but there also are fewer upperclassman going through than freshman. If you want to give it a try do not let anomonous strangers cause you not to.

I'd give formal recruitment a shot and see if you get called back to any houses you're interested in on pref day and if not you can drop out of formal rush and do COB/informal rush after! Also Phi Mu is going to be new on campus next year so if you're interested in becoming a colony member of that sorority that is a possibility too!

This is good advice.

The Cali state schools do have many junior transfers that get bids, but to be honest there are far fewer junior transfers here. That doesn't mean it is impossible to get a bid, it just means that we see it less. You should give Formal Recruitment a try, but with a very open mind to all of the houses. It's very possible that it could work out for you. You will need to get 2 recs to every chapter and get them in early.

If Formal Recruitment doesn't work out then you should definitely consider Phi Mu. They will be a new sorority next fall and will want to take new members from all classes- especially juniors and seniors.

Good luck and welcome to TCU!

You can go through recruitment and with upperclassmen quota should get a bid if you are a good canidate. I would wonder more if you would enjoy hanging with a bunch of 18 year olds right out of high school...You spend a LOT of time with your Pledge Class and you will be in a different mindset as a Junior. There are so many other options for getting involved on campus that I would consider those instead.
