next year

I'm planning on attending TCU next year and wanted to know what rush is like. Will I actually be able to tell where I fit in based on a few conversations with the houses? Also, how big of a commitment is being in a sorority?

a sorority is a huge financial and time commitment. If you are a girl who spends all her time at her boyfriend's then it might not be for you (unless your boyfriend is in a fraternity.)

Recruitment is competitive so get your resume as strong as possible and get good people for your REC letters lined up. You do not "choose" the house you are given a bid to. The chapters are the ones giving invitations. There are some good guides on here to learn what houses are known for/looking for. Once you are given a bid, the bulk of your first semester includes general plus new member meetings before you are initiated. Take a lighter class load this semester if possible because you will be busy plus you will be adjusting to college in general. It is so worth all the effort though. You will make life long friends and have opportunities to get involved on campus that non Greeks will never have. Go for it!
