opinions on re-rushing???
by: frogI need advice whether or not to drop and re rush in the fall as a sophomore. Is that at all looked down upon? Do you think my chances of getting into a different sorority that I think I'd fit in better would be better the second time around? I know Greek life is for me 100%, but recruitment was a little rough this first time around and I doubt I'm the only one who thinks this.

Don't re-rush. You were chosen by your sorority for a reason. Re-rushing next year will not help you get into a sorority with more prestige. I suggest you make the best of the current situation and try to overcome the fact that you think you could do better and accept your sisters and understand they care about you

Coming from someone who dropped out of rush freshman year when left with houses that I didn't fit in with, I would totally advise re-rushing if you're truly not happy!! Girls really do slip through the cracks the first time, and rushing as a sophomore is a totally different experience. You know way more people in the houses and they have to take a certain number of sophomores so you're competing with way less girls. I rushed again this year and ended up in a great house and had so many more options. If it's not working, it's okay to not force it and wait till next year.

If you have sayed with a group this long then stay with them instead of trying to re-rush. Whatever group you have, you wanted you to be their sister so be grateful and enjoy your new friends. Do what you can to make the house stronger if that's what you are worried about.
