next year

by:

I am trying to choose where to go to college next year and one thing that is important (not the most important at all, just one thing on the list) is greek life. Everyone in my family is greek so I plan to continue the tradition. On my mom's side I'm a Gamma Phi and Kappa legacy and on my dad's side a Pi Phi and a Theta legacy. Ha ha I've got it all covered! One thing I'm looking at between UT and TCU is that UT doesn't have a Gamma Phi chapter which is what my mom is. I think that would be special but she says to definitely choose what's best for me, don't pick a house based on a relative.

Anyway, my question is what are the Gamma Phis like at TCU? I don't want to pick TCU for school in part because they have Gamma Phi then be disappointed.

Please don't be hateful to me for reaching out. I know no one can tell about another house. My mom says they're all different. I just want your impressions.

You could go here and join Gamma Phi since that's what you seem to want to do. They're a nice group of girls - a little on the academic side if that's your thing. Anyway, after doing your gen ed requirements you could transfer to UT and graduate from there. The last two years in the sorority involvement tapers off some anyway because classes get harder, girls study abroad, do internships, etc.

So that way you have the best of both worlds.

All the houses you mentioned are strong here. You will not be disappointed if you receive a bid from any of them. TCU has a excellent greek system that is superior to most.

You will love any of the groups you mentioned. They are all well thought of. Good luck with your decision!

Whoa, just came across this....TCU is a decent school, but UT is a major research university with a world class reputation and the #1 accounting program in the United States (just for example). I'm not from TX, just a Midwesterner who pays attention to school rankings. Don't listen to me, look up rankings on US News & World Report, Forbes, or anywhere else.

That said, TCU seems like it would be a great place to go to college and be Greek! You really can't go wrong if you are choosing between TCU and UT.

Legacies are common here so they won't get you a bid for sure. Go through recruitment and if any of the chapters you have mentioned fit your personality you cannot go wrong
