those who went through rush
by: SororityCuriousI would love to know from those who rushed this fall which sororities did the best job and where the most desired by the PNM's. If you have an opinion on who seemed to get the best girls that is fine too( based on your experience). No bashing or rude comments please. It seemed all the sororities did well this year and most girls got bids?

Me and other pnms I talked to during the whole week really liked zta, theta, gamma phi, kappa, and dg. They were the houses that were really relaxed and you could be a little bit more yourself. Had interesting convos! Walking into pi phi was very intimidating because they were so pretty and also awk because they were singing at you. I felt like chio didn't really care to talk to me (and other girls agreed) you can totally tell they may know what girls they want already. Aoii tried way too hard in my opinion. Sigma kappa, adpi, and axo were not memorable at all. I barely remember going there

I loved zeta, kappa, and dg.. They are so easy to get along with
I myself didn't care for theta but they had a great rush and many girls desired them
Tri delt doesn't seem to care at all and is way too easy going and rude about everything. Lots of girls were not wanting them..
Sigma kappa and axo were talked about a little but most girls who had them were putting them 2 and 3 if they still had some of the other houses such at zeta kappa dg theta...
Adpi and aopi did fine. They do push themselves on you but they are still very nice.
Pi phi was not very desired at all this year. Lots of girls that ended up with them did not have them as their first choice.
Chi o is so obvious with who they are planning on keeping. It's rude and I hate the promised they make to girls that end up being lies.
Gamma phi was good. Most girls wanted them over axo and sigma kappa but not over others such as kappa dg zeta etc.
everyone put on a great rush. Competition is high at Tcu with so many great girls that go here.

I find these answers so interesting because it validates my experience. The houses you listed were the ones I felt most welcome in too. I know everyone says on here that Chi Omega is the top house and their recruitment looked so professional but the girls could not hide the girls they wanted and barely listened to the rest of us which was real off putting to me. As for the houses besides Zeta, Theta, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Kappa Gamma or Delta Gamma, they just were not for me and I am glad I got a bid to one of these houses. I'm so excited to get started with my new house!

Those who are going through Rush next year this will give you a great idea what houses made the best impressions during rush and were the most desirable. Good info here..

This is the way things were for me and the majority of girls I spoke to. A hand full of girls limit themselves by thinking they know where they belong before they meet our chapters. Be wise and think for yourself after actually meeting everyone. Every campus is different and you can't go wrong if you go with your heart.

Need to read this thread as it has lots of good information from the girls who went through rush last year and will give you an idea of the most desired houses. The same names are mentioned over and over and should give a good idea of what to expect going through yourself. Keep an open mind always as things do change from year to year and the best house for you is the one that you feel most at home despite what might be written on these boards. You might be just the person to make some of the newer houses top houses in the future so keep that in mind. Sometimes it is what you can offer as much as what they have to give.

Kappa and Gamma Phi seemed the most welcoming. Zeta and Theta were also strong groups that had it all together.

I like how this shows how differnt girls are drawn to different houses but that there are some that are more favored than others those and that is enlightening.

I absolutely loved the vibe I got from theta, dg, zta and gamma phi. They were my favorites because they really wanted to talk to you and get to know you. I felt super welcome and relaxed there. I know most of us pnms didn't want the alphas or sk at all. Sk came off very weird. Tri delt and pi phi came off a little rude to be honest. I talked to three girls in chio that seriously did not seem like they heard a single word I said (I was disappointed and they were actually my favorite house)

My friends and I loved Theta, Gamma Phi, Kappa and Delta Gamma. The girls were pretty but made you feel like they wanted to get to know you. If you were more into partying you wanted KKG or DG and more into studies you wanted KAT or GPB. I agree with others about Chi O. Why even make us go through their house? SK was just weird. DDD and PBP were pretty but not welcoming. They were not wanted by the girls I spoke to. The AXO, ADPI and AOPI girls were very nice but not desired. Girls who got them did not get their first choice. That's my honest opinion.

LOVED Zeta, Delta Gamma, Theta, Gamma Phi and Kappa. All the girls wanted to talk to you and seemed like they had real friendships and were the houses that girls wanted. I felt Chi O, DDD and Pi Phi were good houses but just not right for me. The other houses I didn't hear as much about. I don't think they were people's top choice unless maybe they were a legacy.

One thing I looked at was how other girls interacted with each other and I literally saw a girl bump into another one in tridelt and they gave each other the meanest look ever. To me that stood out a lot because I could see the sisterhood they were selling was not all that accurate. I loved going to dg, theta, zta, and gphi. They were so respectful to one another. I could see their sisterhood was very strong and that's what I wanted in a sorority. Happy to be (one of the ones listed above) :)

Well, recruitment was stressful and hot just like everyone warned but I was impressed with just about every house. I know it's a personal thing but for me Gamma Phi, Theta and Kappa were the houses I wanted to be in. Like others have said, you could feel the warmth the members had for each other and it rubbed off on all of us as went entered those houses. I could not leave DDD fast enough because they seemed really rude even to each other. It was obvious ADPI and AOPI were a little desperate but at least they were sweet. I am so happy with my new house and the strong friendships I can already feel.

I really did not like Tri delt Pi phi or chi o which suprised me because you always here those names. I was most drawn to zeta, theta and gamma phi but thought delta gamma girls were beautiful and easy going too. I'm not sure what I would have done with the other groups. I think Alpha chi omega, ADPi and AOPi seem authentic but they weren't for me.

Zeta blew it out of the ball park! Kappa and DG were also strong. Theta and Gamma Phi round out my choices. Nothing negative about the other groups-- I just didn't didnt click with them as much for various reasons and didn't hear them talked about as top choices during "tent talk".

To me all the houses did a good job. I just did not click with DDD or PBP. They seemed too full of themselves. I especially loved Theta and Gamma Phi and would have like Chi Omega but could tell they were not a real option. All the A houses were super sweet but not what I was looking for. Except for the 2 houses listed about, I did not feel unwelcome or ignored anywhere. You can tell the TCU greek community works hard to make all of the girls feel excited to join.

If you are someone looking for high quality women who are sweet, intelligent and well regarded, you will know when going through recruitment the KAT or GPB is where you will want to be. XO is superb also but the under the table recruitment process that makes this group less of an option.

Pretty sure no one clicks with DDD or PBP since they are known to have some of the most unfriendly girls on campus as their members. It will take a huge switch for that to change.

I liked most houses. The only one that seemed unfriendly were Chi Omega and Tri Delt. I think both groups require alumni connections for them to have a interest in you and I didnt. There were girls who liked them though.

I would second your experience exactly. ZTA, KAT, GPB, KKG and DG were welcoming and excited to meet you. They had high energy but with a positive feeling. XO could care less and PBP and DDD came off kind of rude which doesnt make you want to join. ADPI and AOPI tried too hard but you got to give AOPI some grace because they are still building their house. We do need to say thank you for all the work that obviously goes into the week though. That is this PNMS experience.
