sororities
by: helpAre there any sororities that are fake or two faced? My worst fear is rushing a sorority that seems nice and then later it turns out they are mean or unloyal..

This is college and not high school. There are going to be catty girls in every sorority and some super nice amazing girls as well. There isn't "one" sorority that is considered "catty or mean" at TCU. They are all amazing groups of women. You have to be pretty special to get into to TCU to begin with and the girls going through Rush are not going to be just like the girls who were mean in high school. Everyone is in it together and a sorority truly becomes your family away from home. I think you will find amazing, loyal friends in any group. Keep an open mind. This is college and not high school and their is a big difference.

Pi phi, DG, tri delt, sigma kappa, and zeta have reputations for putting on great recruitments then turning out to be nothing like they were doing recruitment. I joined one of these houses and was completely blindsided and ended up dropping. For the most part the majority of girls in these houses are completely fake and their houses are filled with drama. There's only a few houses on campus (chi o, theta, g phi, and AXO) that are completely genuine in recruitment and stay the same after you Join. So much respect for those houses.

i really hate the negative comments. The truth is you will know going through where you are most comfortable. I know for a fact that there is a lot a cliches in Theta but I would never discourage someone from joining because it's still a good sorority. Zeta may have some catty women but again another great sorority that has a lot to offer and has some amazing girls. Every sorority has different groups but what is important you are a family in the end. You will find your place and you will be happy if you trust your gut and stop listening to what everyone else thinks. It takes time to form friendships even after you pledge so give it time and have an open heart. Attitude will make a big difference in whether you are happy anywhere. There is no perfect sorority only the right sorority that fits you.

I completely have to agree ^^^
However, that does not mean that social houses have terrible sisterhoods. You will still find friends within those groups. If you're looking for the strongest sisterhoods I would lean more towards the academic houses. Those tend to have really strong bonds (and less alcohol violoations, haha)
