fraternity rush
by: 2019I want to join one of the more selective fraternities, but will not be able to meet them until I move in in August as I live far away so I feel like I already will be at a disadvantage. How difficult will it be attending only move in week events and formal rush? Will this be enough time for them to get to know me, or will all spots already have been given regardless of if they want me in their fraternity or not?

Phi Delt, Kappa Sig, SAE, and Sigma Chi all try and fill during the summer. However, they sometimes bring on 2-3 guys during formal. The other disadvantage is that these houses have a strong preference to take guys from the south, and in SAE's case just Texas. That being said, all of these chapters have rush chairs in the DFW area so I would email them and see if you can meet with them when you are in town for orientation and strive to make a good impression. Good luck!

Let's not forget about lambda also filling up over summer, their pledge class wore matching summer bid shirts before anyone even moved in last year!
