Which sororities seem to take the most legacies?

No one can answer this because the selection process is private to each chapter. We could only address how much, if any emphasis, our house puts on this aspect. It is true that many houses could fill their pledge classes with legacies with so many girls going through each year. Obviously that does not happen. A legacy promises you a second visit back but nothing more.

@Classy You are correct that a legacy can be a step up but is no guarantee

Every house is different with some putting a legacy way up their list and others just adding to the mix. It is no guarantee to any of them.

Without doubt having a legacy is an advantage but it is no guarantee. Keep a open mind and enjoy at minimum a invite during the second round to your legacy house.

Some chapters at TCU will have well over 150 legacies go through recruitment. They can't possibly come close to taking all those girls in their pledge classes so it is not uncommon to be released by your legacy chapter. It's not that they didn't like you, or that they don't value legacies, but that logistically they can't keep them all through Pref Round because there won't be room for all of them in the pledge class.

This is why you will constantly hear "keep an open mind." Find the chapter that is the best fit for you- not the best fit for your mom 25 years ago or the best fit for your sister at a completely different school.

I'm a DG legacy and I dropped them on the second day. They just weren't for me. I don't think being a legacy matters that much. Go where you fit in.

A legacy is a nice gift from your family and will gaurentee that you are invited back to the second round. Beyond that you will earn a bid or not mainly if not completely based on your own merit. Your legacy house may be a perfect fit or not so as people say so often on here, keep an open mind.

This has a good explanation for how the selections process happens. Within each house how a people are placed on a list is unique to that group. As others have said you need to remind yourself to be excited about the groups left on your list instead of upset about the ones that are not. It will get you to your goal of a happy recruitment much faster.

Legacies are nice but you what worked for your mom a generation ago may not work for you. Do not focus too much on this when visiting houses.

You aren't a bad person for wishing for something but have a open heart when you meet people. You may be suprised by what wonderful girls you meet where you least expected too.
