problem with helicopter moms at this school

We all know the regular poster "sorority mom." Of course she has a right to be on websites, but is it just me, or is this a serious problem. The moms at this school seem to take up way to much of our energy. Nobody is really calling them out or dealing with the situation head on. This amount of parent involvement would be inappropriate in preschool, but this is COLLEGE!!!! We need to deal with this issue. We came to college to forge our own path. This can't be possible with this situation. Any thoughts?
