top tiers
by: alabamaI'm a senior in high school and haven't gotten my acceptance letter (yet!!) but am hoping that I get accepted to TCU. it's my dream school! That being said, I'm planning to rush and had a quick question. I'm from Alabama and have visited many times. I have a few friends scattered all around different sororities here. I've heard two things about tiers- One is that Kappa, Tri felt, and chi o are top, since they're the texas girl houses. Another is that Theta, Zeta, and Chi O are top. Just very confused and I know tiers don't matter but it's nice to know what you're going into with rush, you know?

If you are concerned about finding the "top" house, you're concerned with the wrong thing. Go into rush with an open mind, genuinely be real, and look for what feels like a fit. Getting caught up in popularity can make for a miserable 4 years. No one will ever care if your sorority was popular or not when you graduate, and honestly nor will you. You'll want to have sisters for life…girls that will be there for your wedding, reconnect for reunions and support you through the ups and downs of life. You'll want to feel a connection…sometimes the "popular" houses may not have that feeling at all for you. Joining a sorority is something you do for YOU not for how you are perceived by others. Besides the guys at TCU could careless about which sorority you're in. They date whomever they're interested in and don't base it on the sorority you're in. Trust me on this. As a senior looking back I wish someone would have given me this advice. Be genuine and look for a true connection. Forget popularity... it's pointless!
