Is it true that SigEp is on probation for doing major damage to their house at the end of last year?

Yes they are on probation and in major debt.

It only takes a few dumb people to totally hose a whole group. This shows that because most of these guys are awesome.

Sig ep did get in trouble for the damages. It is not quite "probation" in that they are still allowed to have social events. However, they cannot have alcohol served at the venues. They also lost their housing privileges until they repay all the money for damages to their house. They will be off "probation" in Spring 2015.

This goes to show how each member matters. You know 99% of Sig Ep had nothing to do with this. Maybe someone will think twice before they make a bad decision. If not for themselves for their chapter. This is sad for all the good guys they have to pay for the few.
