This happened to my DD a few years ago. I belonged to a sorority and know the positive value and leadership it can develop. I encouraged her to join just to see what it was like and she could drop if she wasn't happy. Well, she loved it and became and officer. Today she has a great job due to her numerous officer positions w/in the sorority. Doesn't hurt to try.

My daughter had recommendations for all the houses, outstanding grades, a well-balanced resume with great accomplishments. She is fit and cute and personable. She did not join a house. What the heck? SUCH a disappointment.

The last few years there have been around 200 who dropped so if what you are saying is true we lost double the girls as usual. I have also heard every house is full and have about 70 new members so you number of 400 dropping doesn't makes sense. The numbers suggest we has 992 start and aproximatley 840 place. That leaves 152 that either dropped or did not receive a bid. That sounds much closer to the truth. Competition is tough but you shouldn't put out there almost half the girls got nothing. It also shows why we need a new house to help more girls be able to join the greek community.

I would second that. The last couple of years there were over 200 so this shows recruitment went well this year. Go greek!
