Were placed and how many dropped during the fall 14 recruitment?

I read on here that 100 girls didn't receive a bid at all. Is that true? We have never had that many girls get no bid.

Well if they did receive a bid it still doesn't mean it was for a place where they belonged! Such a horrible and cruel and heartless system! I hope one day all of you will know the same kind of crushing disappointment my DD and I know today!

This happened to my DD a few years ago. I belonged to a sorority and know the positive value and leadership it can develop. I encouraged her to join just to see what it was like and she could drop if she wasn't happy. Well, she loved it and became and officer. Today she has a great job due to her numerous officer positions w/in the sorority. Doesn't hurt to try.

My daughter had recommendations for all the houses, outstanding grades, a well-balanced resume with great accomplishments. She is fit and cute and personable. She did not join a house. What the heck? SUCH a disappointment.

400 girls dropped this year it's true. That includes the 100 who did not get a bid at all, when in the past it's been about 7. This year was so much more difficult than all the others!

The last few years there have been around 200 who dropped so if what you are saying is true we lost double the girls as usual. I have also heard every house is full and have about 70 new members so you number of 400 dropping doesn't makes sense. The numbers suggest we has 992 start and aproximatley 840 place. That leaves 152 that either dropped or did not receive a bid. That sounds much closer to the truth. Competition is tough but you shouldn't put out there almost half the girls got nothing. It also shows why we need a new house to help more girls be able to join the greek community.

From what I've been reading, most chapters got about 70 NMs. If that is true, then doesn't that mean 850 girls received a bid?

992 girls went through recruitment and 821 new women joined the panhellenic community.

I would second that. The last couple of years there were over 200 so this shows recruitment went well this year. Go greek!

So many amazing girls were placed this year. Each house worked so hard to prepare and welcome everyone. We should be so proud to be a part of this community.
