sophomore going through rush

by: transfer

If I'm rushing as a sophomore transfer student with a high GPA, is there a good chance I'll get a bid? I keep reading how hard it is for sophomores and upperclassmen during rush, and I don't want to get my hopes up if there is a chance I'll get dropped by all sororities.

You won't get dropped by all the sororities for being a sophomore.

There are quotas that each house must fill for upperclassmen. The number changes according to the number of girls going through recruitment. In some ways, I think being an upperclassmen could be an advantage because there are fewer of you. Everyone is worrying too much. If you are a good person and maximize all your invitations you will get a bid. Some houses may be stronger in one area than another but EVERY house has wonderful women that can become your life long friends.

Love this answer. One of my best friends rushed as a Sophomore. You will be fine!

You will not be dropped by all houses just because you are a Sophomore. If you are a good candidate and maximize your invites you will be just fine.

It may be harder for you to get certain houses because the upperclassmen quotas are suggested not enforced. If you are a good candidate you will find a home though.
