Objective rankings

by:

The one ranking you can’t argue with is GPA. GPA says a lot about a chapter because it’s usually in line with overall campus involvement, selectivity, retention, etc.

Here are rankings based on gpa:

Theta
Chi o
SK
Phi mu
Zeta
Pi phi
Alpha chi
DG
Kappa
Gphi
ADPi
DDD
KD

gpa rankings only show which sororities value smart girls during recruitment, nothing else

LMAO that's called 'selectivity'. Maybe that's a big word for you, you can look it up. Also higher GPA is directly correlated to higher retention. You can look up 'correlated' and 'retention' too.

I want to reply to the comment below. The others could be selective based on other factors, not necessarily academics but more superficial characteristics. I am not sure GPA is “directly” correlated either, but high performers in academics tend to be more involved. If you can show the information about retention rates I’d be interested to see that too

This is so stupid. You can have a high GPA and an easy major. Your GPA is nobody's business but your own. It's creepy that people still collect this information.

GPA is the most biased thing out there. You get a good GPA in high school if your parents are involved in the community and the teachers want to stay on the good side of your parents

why would a pnm care about a chapter's overall gpa? i want a close sisterhood that i can do life with. i could not care less about their grades.

By: who cares
by: GPA

Well good for you, but there are plenty of pnm's who do care about chapter GPA because they want an indication of which sororities value academics and will help support their members in that respect. STEM majors and those that intend to go to grad school especially get kind of worried that sorority membership will be too time-consuming and that the social aspect will be too big of a distraction; they want to keep their grades up.

If the sisterhood isn't understanding of members with certain academic goals then it's not the right fit. Recruitment is when a pnm can ask questions and see what the culture is like in a chapter's membership and the various majors in the chapter too; GPA just gives the first look. If you don't care about a chapter's GPA then there's certainly a house like that for you.

Don't assume that higher GPA chapters don't have close sisterhoods.

Sorority’s with lower gpas from who I know mostly have pre-med, nursing, engineering students. And top sorority’s love comm, fashion, etc. Majors so they can focus on sorority and social events more w a easier major.
