fraternity rush

by: Question

Should I contact a fraternity first or let them contact me? I'm a sophomore looking to join one and I don't know how this all works. Any advice is appreciated.

It's all about who you know. If you know guys in a group then tell them your interested.

Contact them first, especially if you know some one. I saw rushees at events all last semester, so you should contact them as soon as you can, especially since you are a soph which can be a disadvantage

I would contact personal friends who can put in a good word

You would be unwise to stand by and do nothing if you have a contact especially being a sophomore

If you know people in a group of interest then definitely let them know your interested in becoming a pledge. With you being a Sophomore they might not even think of you otherwise.

Make a move or be left behind.

If you have a connection to the group you should certainly contact them. It is true that being a sophomore will put you at a disadvantage but with solid support from a member this can be overcome.

The sooner they know you are interested in their group the better
